For this year’s Draw Jam, the artists headed to the Egadi island of Marettimo, Sicily. In addition to the artists who attended, many more kindly donated works. Proceeds from their sale have been donated for the third year running to the Order of Malta Relief Organisation in Satu Mare, Translyvania, near the Ukrainian border @maltez.satumare. The funds raised have been used to help the organisation acquire more relief trucks providing hot meals and essential supplies to Ukrainian refugee women, children and the elderly, as well as for those displaced or impoverished in the villages close to the border. Carl’s paternal ancestors hail from Transylvania and since the war began, Carl and his daughter Julia have travelled each year to Satu Mare to help pack, transport and deliver urgent relief at the three border crossing points on the Ukrainian/Romanian border.
